Newport Garage

Newport garage is a development in the position of a former petrol station, in the centre of a small town!

 

Due to the proximity of the site and also being in a National Park, the project involved some quite extensive work at the planning stage. Being on a former industrial site, numerous surveys to mitigate ground pollution had to be carried out. Not to mention the Japanese knot weed, which had to be burned on site and then inspected by the chief inspector from the council! Due to the development being carried out in Wales, all the work had to be carried out in strict accordance with the Welsh Code of Sustainability, which is an environmental requirement for all developments, which posed some quite significant challenges in the procurement of the project.
